About this online volume booster

Got a phone recording where the speaker is barely audible? An old YouTube clip that plays way too quietly through your speakers? OneAudio Booster uses FFmpeg's volume and loudnorm filters to push audio up to broadcast loudness without distorting the signal.

Two modes are available. Manual mode lets you drag a slider from 10% to 500% — full control if you know what you need. Smart normalization (safe mode) runs the EBU R128 loudnorm algorithm, analyzing peak and integrated loudness to land at -14 LUFS — matching YouTube and Spotify's release target, avoiding algorithmic ducking on those platforms.

  • Amplify between 10% and 500% of original volume
  • Auto anti-clipping loudnorm mode — -14 LUFS / -1.5 dB True Peak
  • Works with MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A, OGG, and video MP4/MKV/AVI
  • Server-side FFmpeg — no browser RAM hit
  • 192kbps MP3 output, source sample rate preserved
  • Files auto-delete within 1 hour for privacy

Boost volume online in 3 steps

  1. 1

Upload your audio or video file

Drag and drop, or click to pick. Up to 200MB — enough for long podcasts or HD video.

  2. 2

Pick a boost level or turn on Smart Normalization

Drag to the level you want (default 200%). For speech-heavy files, enable Smart Normalization to avoid clipping.

  3. 3

Click Start and download the amplified MP3

Processing takes 10-30 seconds depending on file length. Result is a clean, loud 192kbps MP3.

Real-world uses of a volume booster

Rescue quiet interview recordings
Phone-recorded interviews are often too quiet. 300% boost + safe mode brings every word back.
Loudness-match old YouTube clips
Videos from the 90s-2000s often sit around -23 LUFS. Safe mode brings them up to modern -14 LUFS.
Normalize a podcast before publishing
Spotify and Apple Podcasts expect -16 LUFS. Safe mode handles this automatically.
Make classroom lecture audio audible
Webcam-recorded lectures are often too quiet for lecture-room speakers. A 400% boost fixes it fast.

Frequently asked questions about volume boosting

How high can I boost without distortion?
With a clean original (no background noise), you can comfortably push to 300-400%. For compressed or noisy recordings, use safe mode to avoid clipping.
How is safe mode different from a % boost?
The % slider multiplies the waveform amplitude uniformly — easy to clip if the file is already loud. Safe mode analyzes the full file and normalizes to a target loudness, auto-avoiding clipping.
Why does the result sound muddier after boosting?
Usually because the source is a low-bitrate MP3 (<128kbps) — boosting raises background noise too. Run it through the Enhancer first to denoise, then boost.
Can I boost beyond 500%?
500% is already very aggressive — beyond that, distortion becomes unrecoverable. If the source is that quiet, re-record with higher mic gain rather than fixing it in software.
Does my MP4 stay as video?
No — OneAudio extracts the audio and outputs a boosted MP3. For a video with louder audio, re-mux it back using a video editor like CapCut.
What does -14 LUFS actually mean?
LUFS (Loudness Units Full Scale) is an integrated loudness measurement. -14 LUFS is YouTube's target, -16 for podcasts, -23 for TV broadcast. Safe mode lands your file at -14 LUFS.
